smart bulbs are ultra affordable, especially if you buy more than one. I&#8217;ve seen them sell for $52 for a 4 pack. Since then, they have updated the bulb to have warm and cool whites. The warm and cool whites can&#8217;t get as warm or cool as some of the other bulbs. Its colors are decent and comparable with TECKIN. It also uses the Smart Life app. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Legelite\">Legelite<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Legelite is the same bulb as the Aukora. They even come in the exact same box! I <g class=\"gr_ gr_107 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"107\" data-gr-id=\"107\">preferred<\/g> Legelite over TECKIN before <g class=\"gr_ gr_77 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace\" id=\"77\" data-gr-id=\"77\">TECKIN<\/g> could change white temperature. Now that TECKIN can change white temperatures. I would choose TECKIN since it&#8217;s brighter and possibly less expensive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Sengled_Multicolor\">Sengled Multicolor<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sengled costs a little more than the other budget bulbs, but it&#8217;s an affordable option for those wanting lights that use a hub. The benefits are that the bulbs work locally and use less bandwidth. Bulbs connected to WiFi without a hub seem to lose connection more frequently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sengled&#8217;s white looks somewhat similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/philips-hue-ideas\/\" class=\"wpil_internal_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philips Hue<\/a> (which also requires a hub), but it costs much less than Hue lights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you use SmartThings, then a Zigbee <g class=\"gr_ gr_45 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace\" id=\"45\" data-gr-id=\"45\">bulb like<\/g> Sengled will work really well. Lighting <g class=\"gr_ gr_80 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace\" id=\"80\" data-gr-id=\"80\">automations<\/g> on SmartThings run locally with Z-Wave or Zigbee devices. That means the motion sensor or <g class=\"gr_ gr_249 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del\" id=\"249\" data-gr-id=\"249\">what ever<\/g> automation you have turning on the lights will run much faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we first tested out Sengled the colors were not bright. After re-testing them with the same bulb they are much brighter. Not sure if there was an update, but the colors do look much better in the second video than the first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don&#8217;t care about all the accessories that come with Philips Hue and want a really good Zigbee bulb, Sengled is a great option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Wyze_Bulb_white_not_multicolor\">Wyze Bulb (white, not multicolor)<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s no secret that we love <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Wyze Cams (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/wyze-cam-review\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wyze Cams<\/a>, but what about Wyze Bulbs?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Made by the same company that created the popular and super affordable Wyze Cams, this bulb is also affordable, costing around $12 per bulb after shipping. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While this is a great price, the bulb doesn&#8217;t keep up with competitors at that price point. It has tunable whites, but is not multicolor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/wyze_bulb-compressor-1024x572.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10634\" width=\"347\" height=\"192\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2kFQ6rH\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/v1_button_check-it-out-blue-compressor.jpg\" rel='magnific' alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10352\" width=\"178\" height=\"35\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The app has also been <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"a little limited (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/reviews\/wyze-bulb-review\/\" target=\"_blank\">a little limited<\/a> in what it can and can&#8217;t do. For example, scheduling at sunrise or sunset or using slow fades aren&#8217;t options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The positives?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This bulb does feel heavier and higher quality compared to some of the cheaper options. Its warm and cool whites look nice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are invested in the Wyze brand with other cameras and outlets then it might make sense to control your lights and all of your home within Wyze&#8217;s app. You can also automate these bulbs with Wyze Sense which has lower latency than IFTTT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don&#8217;t care about multi-color and want a quality inexpensive light bulb, the Wyze Bulb is a good option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Best_Bright_White_Bulbs\">Best Bright White Bulbs<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Sengled_bright_white_bulb\">Sengled bright white bulb<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sengled is the brightest bulb on this list. I was excited to test out this bulb after covering it earlier this year for my <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"CES 2019 smart home video (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/ZnfZYRrysDE?t=477\" target=\"_blank\">CES 2019 smart home video<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s 1,500 lumens, which is almost double the cheaper 800 lumen bulbs I covered earlier. The bulb also has a high quality, heavy feel and even has a vent on top to avoid overheating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like the Sengled multicolor bulbs, you need either SmartThings or Sengled&#8217;s own hub to get this bulb working. Not a big deal if you already have a hub, but it&#8217;s something to keep in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This bulb is <strong>not multicolor<\/strong>, so it&#8217;s only a white bulb. Plus it&#8217;s not tunable\u2014you can either buy a bulb that&#8217;s 2,700K or 5,000K. It will really light up your house and save money since it&#8217;s an LED bulb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Novostella_bright_multicolor_bulb\">Novostella bright multicolor bulb<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Novostella&#8217;s bright bulb is 1,300 lumens, which is very bright. It has flat sides so it doesn&#8217;t roll off the table, and it is heavier with a high quality feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you mainly use Alexa, Google Assistant or IFTTT in your smart home then this Wi-Fi bulb will work well.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Best_High_End_Smart_Bulbs\">Best High End Smart Bulbs<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Yeelight\">Yeelight<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Yeelight is one of the bulbs that are most recommended to us by our audience, and it&#8217;s easy to see why. It feels higher quality compared to cheaper options. It has the added benefit of connecting to SmartThings natively, as well as HomeKit, Home Assistant, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What&#8217;s great about this Yeelight V2 bulb is that if this is your first smart home device it will work well. It&#8217;s not very expensive and you control it using the Yeelight app connected to Wi-Fi. It will also work well if you add more to your smart home like SmartThings or HomeKit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yeelight also makes one of my favorite <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"smart light strips (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/led-light-strip-ideas\/\" target=\"_blank\">smart light strips<\/a>. Check them out at <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2Pi9V2G\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" aria-label=\"this link (opens in a new tab)\">this link<\/a> if you&#8217;re interested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"TP-Link\">TP-Link<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a WiFi bulb that you control with TP-Link&#8217;s Kasa app, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.tplink.kasa_android&amp;hl=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"highly rated (opens in a new tab)\">highly rated<\/a> in both major app stores. It&#8217;s clearly designed to be a LIFX competitor, which is why I put it in this category of high quality bulbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In my testing, the colors were accurate and TP-Link&#8217;s bulb seemed brighter even though it says it&#8217;s 800 lumens like the cheaper bulbs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But when placed next to an inexpensive <g class=\"gr_ gr_4 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace\" id=\"4\" data-gr-id=\"4\">bulb like<\/g> Legelite or TECKIN, you can see why it might make more sense to opt for a cheaper bulb. TP-Link looks somewhat similar to Legelite, even though it costs much more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"LIFX\">LIFX<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>LIFX bulbs are known for having the brightest and most accurate colors. In our testing, it lived up to this reputation and was easily the most vivid bulbs of the bunch. I prefer the LIFX app over Hue. Its color dial makes it very easy to select the exact warmth and tone from their millions of options. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are categorized as high end because they are quality bulbs, but also expensive. We use them for accent lighting and lamps, rather than replacing all of the bulbs in our home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When compared with almost any bulb, the LIFX colors were <strong>much<\/strong> brighter. It&#8217;s also a heavier option that&#8217;s just higher quality all around. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yeelight is one of the few that can almost keep up with LIFX&#8217;s colors. LIFX has a large range for the white temperature, but it isn&#8217;t as bright as the ultra bright white options like Novostella and Sengled. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LIFX is ideal if you are wanting the most vibrant colors, an easy to use app, and aren&#8217;t too concerned about the cost. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Philips_Hue\">Philips Hue<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the best-known brand in the smart lighting space. But how does it compare with less familiar options? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Philips Hue&#8217;s colors aren&#8217;t nearly as bright as other options, which is surprising for the bulb&#8217;s high cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hue requires its own bridge to work, which makes it more reliable than LIFX since it&#8217;s using ZigBee rather than WiFi. Especially when you consider the price and the popularity of these bulbs. When we compared it next to TP-Link and Legelite, Hue didn&#8217;t look look like the brighter option, even though it is more expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don&#8217;t mind that too much, then there are other benefits of it, including a wide array of accessories, lamps, outdoor lighting, and third-party apps to customize your lighting more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hue is the best option for a solid ecosystem of bright smart lights that use ZigBee rather than WiFi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Avoid_These_Bulbs\">Avoid These Bulbs<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Merkury\">Merkury<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Merkury bulbs were recommended to us by our audience members as nice affordable bulbs from Walmart. At 1050 lumens, they are bright, especially considering their price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However these bulbs feel cheap since they are so lightweight. The white temperature is set at 2700K and the color brightness is very dim. When the bulbs are changed to multicolor instead of white, they give off very little light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/merkury-compressor-1024x570.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10628\" width=\"349\" height=\"194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/merkury-compressor-1024x570.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/merkury-compressor-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/merkury-compressor.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 349px) 100vw, 349px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" aria-label=\"Link to Merkur (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/31Tdkej\" target=\"_blank\">Link to Merkury<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Merkury is less bright than TECKIN, so it&#8217;s obviously <strong>much <\/strong>dimmer than LIFX, Yeelight, and others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you decide to use it, you can control it with the Geeni or SmartLife apps. I couldn&#8217;t get it working with IFTTT in SmartLife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center\"><span id=\"Magic_Light\">Magic Light<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is one of the smart bulbs on this list that I would avoid. Even though it&#8217;s recommended by Amazon and very highly rated, it&#8217;s not that bright and its colors are very dim. The bulb has a dull buzzing noise when powered off, and even when it&#8217;s on it still buzzes slightly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/magiclight-compressor-1024x543.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10553\" width=\"401\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/magiclight-compressor-1024x543.png 1024w, https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/magiclight-compressor-300x159.png 300w, https:\/\/smarthomesolver.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/magiclight-compressor.png 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 401px) 100vw, 401px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2XybrkD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" aria-label=\"Link to Magic Light (opens in a new tab)\">Link to Magic Light<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Magic Light uses the Magic Home app. Changing the color temperature between cool and warm is very limited. Since the bulb is only RGB and not RGBW, they are simulating the white, but it doesn&#8217;t look that great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would avoid this bulb. Luckily it doesn&#8217;t buzz, but it still has the same issues with brightness and no RGBW.
