The cover isn&#8217;t easy to remove and the screw on the bottom is very small.  <\/li><li><strong>Very limited smart home integration.<\/strong> It shows up in the Alexa app as a generic camera, but you can&#8217;t have it trigger anything from motion or a doorbell press. For example, it won&#8217;t show up on Echo Show.<\/li><li><strong>No person detection.<\/strong> In my testing, it would alert me for birds flying in my front yard.<\/li><li><strong>Some app frustrations.<\/strong> To see the latest events, you have to scroll all the way over, which feels backwards. It&#8217;s still not perfect though, since I won&#8217;t see the package if it&#8217;s leaning on the wall where the doorbell is.<\/li><li><strong>Works within the Arlo ecosystem<\/strong> which may be a good thing if you&#8217;re already using their app and cameras elsewhere. <\/li><li><strong>Screenshot on the notification <\/strong>for a quick glance at who is there (subscription required).<\/li><li><strong>Multiple activity zones <\/strong>are available (subscription required).<\/li><li><strong>Advanced notifications<\/strong> reduce false alarms from traffic and birds (subscription required). There is also a notification if someone is trying to steal the doorbell. I received this notification when I was uninstalling it. <\/li><li><strong>Default responses<\/strong> are available to quickly select while on the live view. That way you can tell someone to leave a package if you are in a meeting. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3><span id=\"Cons-2\">Cons<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Software glitches.<\/strong> When someone rings the doorbell, the video feed is gray and doesn&#8217;t load correctly. This is an issue others have experienced as well, and I noticed it on the Arlo audio doorbell. I troubleshooted this for a <strong>long<\/strong> time, and any fixes were only temporary before it switched back. <\/li><li><strong>Subscription (basically) required. <\/strong>If you want cloud storage or premium features like smart notifications, you will have to pay a monthly fee. <\/li><li><strong>Very limited local storage. <\/strong>While Arlo says you can have local storage with the base station, you can&#8217;t access it remotely. Unless you set up a VPN so it&#8217;s not user friendly.<\/li><li><strong>Doesn&#8217;t work like it should. <\/strong>The notifications were slow and live feed was 6 seconds behind at times. &#8220;Leave a message&#8221; feature didn&#8217;t work well either. It also <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"can't display on Echo Show (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/community.arlo.com\/t5\/Arlo-Video-Doorbell\/Cannot-get-arlo-doorbell-cam-to-show-on-echo-show-or-Google\/td-p\/1767109#\" target=\"_blank\">can&#8217;t display on an Echo Show<\/a> or Google Home Hub unless you downgrade the quality in the settings to 1080p. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center\"><span id=\"Honeywell_Skybell_Trim\">Honeywell Skybell Trim<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Free cloud storage is awesome, but Skybell Trim doesn&#8217;t let you dial in the notifications. You can change the color in the app. It&#8217;s brighter and better than I expected. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3><span id=\"Cons-3\">Cons<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Notification issues. <\/strong>I received almost no notifications during my testing at night. During the day, there were nonstop notifications even on the lowest sensitivity. <\/li><li><strong>No IR for night vision<\/strong>. Instead, it changes the color of the light on top of the doorbell to a bright white to shine on faces.<\/li><li><strong>No motion zones or people detection. <\/strong>This explains why I receive way too many notifications with this doorbell. This many false alarms makes you become numb to notifications, even if someone is actually at your door. <\/li><li><strong>Lower quality app, packaging, and installation. <\/strong>For the price, I expected more from the Honeywell Skybell Trim. The app and packaging were both very basic and dated. These helped reduce false notifications in my testing.<\/li><li><strong>2K footage and WDR. <\/strong>The 2K video looks high quality compared to others. WDR helps you see the details of shadowy faces better.<\/li><li><strong>Custom pre-recorded responses.<\/strong> This is a nice extra feature offered by Eufy that adds convenience for recording custom replies for guests. You can also choose default responses.<\/li><li><strong>Lots of settings.<\/strong> In the settings, you can change the quality to make it stream to your smart display faster. You can also turn off the thumbnail notification to receive alerts faster. Eufy is always updating their doorbell with more settings and features.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3><span id=\"Cons-4\">Cons<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>WDR can wash out the background<\/strong>. This makes the background look very bright to expose the face correctly. Although you do have the option to turn that off. <\/li><li><strong>Limited to one motion zone.<\/strong> While one is better than none, it would be easier to set up if you could create multiple zones. <\/li><li><strong>No option to trigger an Alexa routine on motion. <\/strong>The only option available right now is if the doorbell is pressed. Then an Alexa routine can be triggered. <\/li><li><strong>Audio isn&#8217;t recorded from the phone<\/strong> on the video recording. Only audio from the doorbell. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center\"><span id=\"Nest_Hello\">Nest Hello<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Nest Hello looks and feels high quality. I can set multiple zones and specify what types of notifications I want for each one. Pre-recorded messages are also available. <\/li><li><strong>HDR looks excellent<\/strong>. The colors aren&#8217;t blown out like on Eufy&#8217;s WDR. <\/li><li><strong>Facial detection alerts.<\/strong> You can save familiar faces in the app and assign a name to them. When they return, Google will announce that specific person is at the front door. It can also recognize packages. Note that in Illinois face detection is turned off because of state laws.<\/li><li><strong>Live feed automatically displays <\/strong>on Nest Hubs. Even if you set it to silent, the video feed shows up without alerting you with a noise.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3><span id=\"Cons-5\">Cons<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Subscription fee required<\/strong>. Since there is no free cloud storage or local storage available, you have to pay a subscription for the 24\/7 cloud video storage. Nest also requires the subscription for their premium features, including face detection and activity zones.<\/li><li><strong>Notification &#8220;cool down&#8221; period<\/strong> may mean missed motion notifications. Nest created this so you wouldn&#8217;t get annoyed with too many alerts. But I also wasn&#8217;t alerted about some packages because I had walked past recently, so Nest Hello wasn&#8217;t sending notifications for a moment. You also cannot temporarily disable notifications. <\/li><li><strong>All Google Home devices announce <\/strong>when someone is at the door&#8230; even if you don&#8217;t want them to. There is no option to specify which devices announce and which do not.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center\"><span id=\"Ring_Pro\">Ring Pro<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>This is Ring&#8217;s most feature-packed doorbell, but it doesn&#8217;t quite stack up to competitors in its price range. It works on 5GHz, which may help its speeds.<\/li><li><strong>Integrates with Ring and Amazon <\/strong>ecosystem. The live feed automatically displays on Echo Show devices. You can also use it with your Ring Secure alarm system.<\/li><li><strong>Easy to use app<\/strong> with several great features. You can set up multiple motion zones or use person detection to reduce false notifications. Its timeline is easy to scroll through, somewhat similar to Nest&#8217;s. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3><span id=\"Cons-6\">Cons<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Subscription fees.<\/strong> Ring doesn&#8217;t offer any local or free cloud video storage, so you can expect to pay a subscription fee. This fee also covers monitored security with Ring Protect, so if you have both then it could be worth it for you.<\/li><li><strong>No option to snooze the chime temporarily<\/strong>. You can snooze motion alerts, but it would be nice to set the chime to quiet for awhile. <\/li><li><strong>Some glitches. <\/strong>The audio cuts out as you can see in our video. The recordings were also sometimes slow to load.<\/li><li><strong>Video quality not as good<\/strong> as competitors. For example, Eufy&#8217;s 2K footage looks better, and so does Nest Hello&#8217;s HDR. The notifications also don&#8217;t show a preview like the others do.
